It's not just for wives!
UltraWives is a site for wives, husbands, partners, parents, siblings, friends, and supporters of ultrarunners.
The world of ultrarunning is full of unusual and unique experiences. It can be especially strange for those whose lives are directly linked to the runner and become a part of this world through association. This is a space to share those experiences, advice, stories and to link up with fellow UltraWives!
The forum is the main point of this site. Here you can find advice on being a crew member, supporting your runner, and maybe finding some support for yourself in the form of other crew members. I created this site because I was looking for a forum like this to find some people to share my experiences and sometimes my frustrations with my somewhat new role as ultrarunning crew to my husband. As any of us who are involved with an ultrarunner know, it can be an all-consuming experience! I was also looking perhaps for some fellow supporters to meet up with during a race that my husband was running, and that I was due to be crewing solo. I was surprised to find that no such site existed. Ultrarunning is becoming more and more widespread, and has such a lovely community feel to it during races - I think that community needs an online presence too!
Head over to the forum to join in the conversation, or the blog to read more about my husband and I and the races we have been involved in.
